With a continuous stream of economic news unfolding around the world, organizations are refocusing on business with an optimistic outlook. We came across this sentiment while compiling the latest edition of our Talent Trends Quarterly, a follow-up to Randstad Sourceright’s annual Talent Trends Report. Through a survey of more than 700 human capital and C-suite leaders in 15 countries, we found that companies around the world are aggressively positioning themselves for growth. With more certainty, they can again concentrate on moving beyond limits.

C-suite leaders face constant tension. Macroeconomic factors such as sustained global economic growth today may favor their business strategies today, but for the long term, they continue to worry about human capital — its optimal deployment, costs, effectiveness and engagement. In our research, we found disparities between how C-suite and human capital leaders view the benefits of integrated talent, where they believe it’s best to invest in talent and even on the impact of employer branding. Clearly, there is a lack of alignment.

why is this critical?

C-suite executives are singularly focused on the long-term impact of talent management, while HR and procurement directors have many more tactical demands placed on them. To enable business leaders to execute on their plans without hesitation, human capital leaders need to provide assurances that talent will be there to support growth initiatives. Our research continues to show that business leaders regard access to talent as one of their most critical concerns. You can alleviate this worry by truly transforming HR from being a back-office facilitator to a frontline strategic advisor.

So do you have the knowledge and resources to put them at ease? Do you possess critical insights to stay ahead of competitors? Are you indispensable to C-level decision makers? To help you answer “yes” to these questions, our Talent Trends Quarterly will keep you ahead of market developments and up-to-date on what’s happening around the world. Become familiar with the global talent trends affecting your organization and the markets and industries in which you operate. Start here by taking a deep dive into our Q2 research. We’re sure you will find it compelling to your strategy and valuable for communicating your goals and challenges with the C-suite.
