The Talent Advisor is critical to the RSR client achieving their business objectives and to the candidate perception of the client as an exciting career opportunity.

Talent Advisors are brand evangelists for our clients to the candidate population as they articulate the client employee value proposition.

Job purpose:

The Talent Advisor is responsible for providing an advisory and proactive recruitment experience to both hiring managers and candidates by demonstrating subject matter expertise, inclusive of market intelligence and optimal sourcing channels that are not restricted to LinkedIn or Job Boards.

Main accountabilities:

  • The main accountability areas for this position are:
  • Delight the Hiring Manager and candidate by ensuring a smooth and timely process which demonstrates subject matter expertise and genuine caring for a successful outcome
  • Own 1-2 job families and establish talent communities of proactively sourced pre-qualified candidates who are interested in the opportunity before requisition approval
  • Weekly qualification of proactively sourced candidates within the 1-2 job families to ensure each talent community is at least 10 deep with qualified candidates who have verbally confirmed a desire to join our client
  • Weekly hiring manager and candidate advisory updates
  • Market intelligence collection via interviews to be shared with hiring managers and team members – which competitors are hiring and what are they offering candidates – is our client competitive?
  • Recruitment process management using the required ATS and/or Candidate Relationship Management System (CRM)
  • Administration and reporting as required

Recruitment and candidate management



  • Conduct an advisory requisition intake by sharing market intelligence during the intake and taking prequalified candidates from the existing talent community to the intake
  • Understand the client EVP and easily articulate the reason a candidate should join our client inclusive of career progression, training opportunities and benefits
  • Create and nurture a proactively sourced talent community of prequalified candidates who have the competency to fill the repeatable role and desire to join the client organisation via weekly calls to market mapped candidates or update calls to existing talent community candidates
  • Constantly engage pre-qualified candidates from talent community and ensure the talent pool is sufficient and available when needed
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to effectively forecast talent needs in order to build proactive qualified talent pools against future demands.
  • Initiate a range of sourcing activities by using various sourcing technology platforms and leveraging resources effectively including social media, networking, cold calling and conducting referrals together with specialised sourcing tools such as Entelo, to ensure a regular supply of candidates that meet client’s current and future demands.
  • Own all elements of the recruitment process including sourcing, screening and qualifying candidates, briefing and preparing candidates, organizing interviews and sometimes negotiating remuneration packages to ensure client needs and expectations are met in a timely manner.
  • Provide advice to clients and candidates on salary levels, training requirements and career progression opportunities to facilitate the recruitment process.
  • Promote positive relationships and strong partnerships to protect the candidate experience

Client management


  • Develop and maintain relationships with the client hiring manager to ensure a good understanding of their current and future hiring requirements.
  • Partner with the client to understand the client EVP and business unit EVP to share with candidates to improve conversions to offer
  • Maintain weekly contact for each hiring manager to update on open requisitions.
  • Keep abreast of and analyse market and sector developments to ensure personal business and specialist technical knowledge is updated and to support the provision of consultative service and market intelligence to clients. Ask questions to understand the clients business objectives in order to be able to articulate clearly with potential candidates
  • Spend time with the client to develop and maintain relationships with the client to ensure a good understanding of their current and future priorities.
  • Keeps well-informed about additional opportunities for RSR and communicates this to manager.
  • Administration and reporting
  • Complete and update client and candidate details in administration systems to support effective management information reporting.
  • Generating reports on RSR and client specific databases (as required).
  • Real time updates for timely and accurate record keeping
  • Process management in line with client specific processes
  • Comply with company policies and procedures including business principles, misconduct reporting procedure and competition law compliance policy to meet Randstad’s expectations concerning professional conduct.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the team and the manager to maximise synergies, discuss market developments, to share experience and knowledge.
  • Comply with legislative requirements at all times.
